Baseline Information Note on the 2022 Elections and Referendum in Hungary

Our new baseline note provides an overview of the legal framework, practical arrangements and key developments on nine key areas, from the electoral system to the regulations on election observation. The note is aimed at those who have little or no knowledge of the relevant Hungarian rules and would like to better understand the events of the coming weeks leading up to the parliamentary elections and national referendum held on 3 April 2022.

From now on, the HHC will regularly publish short English updates on key developments, following the structure of this baseline information note.
