The HHC organises and conducts regular training activities in refugee law for lawyers, asylum officers, judges, border guards, police officers, social workers, law students and others. In recent years, the HHC has trained several hundreds of asylum professionals in Hungary and other states (such as Spain, Italy, France,Sweden, Norway or Russia), in the framework of more than 50 training events.
In addition to various fields of refugee law and practice, the HHC provides training on the research and use of country information (COI) in asylum procedures, statelessness, medico-legal issues in refugee status determination, family reunification as well as legal issues related to alien policing detention and access to refugee status determination. HHC trainings are usually characterised by an interactive methodology and innovative strategies, such as the involvement of mixed governmental-NGO target groups.
The HHC is co-author of the e-learning course “Researching Country of Origin Information” (www.coi-training.net) and is invited to provide expertise in the European Asylum Curriculum project (jointly run by several EU member states).
