Váltás magyarraThe project „European Judicial Training on the rights of persons in need of international protection” was coordinated by the Greek Council for Refugees and co-funded by the European Union. The Hungarian Helsinki Committee participated in the project as a project partner. The project aimed at contributing to the harmonization of legal interpretation within the European Union in the field of fundamental rights of individuals in need of international protection. For this aim, project partners organized judicial trainings in subjects related to the implementation of the Council Framework Decision 2008/913/JHA of 28 November 2008. Project activities were accomplished in 5 countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy and Malta) by the partner organizations.
The Hungarian Helsinki Committee contributed to the development of the training and other project-related materials and organized two trainings in Hungary. The interactive and practice-oriented trainings delivered between February and September of 2017 focused on (1) the judicial review of administrative detention and (2) the efficient prosecution of hate crimes.
A detailed report about the judicial training held in May 2017 is available in Hungarian at:
