Unidentified and Unattended

This study looks into how relevant provisions of the Recast Reception Conditions Directive and the Recast Asylum Procedures Directive regarding the protection of victims of torture/traumatised asylum seekers are transposed into national legislation of the following Eastern EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The research found that several aspects of EU legislation are still not properly transposed which leads to vulnerable asylum-seekers not being identified and not receiving proper treatment. The publication is part of the ACESO project, co-financed by the European Commission. The Hungarian Helsinki Committee led the initiative on which it worked together with the Cordelia Foundation, the Croatian Law Centre, the Foundation for Access to Rights, the Assistance Centre for Torture Survivors and the Greek Council for Refugees.
