The project primarily aims at the effective and harmonised application of human rights principles in decision-making related to the expulsion of foreigners. To this end, in 2009, the HHC will hold two trainings for high-ranking police officers dealing with alien policing matters and two trainings for criminal and administrative judges. The curriculum touches upon relevant international and domestic legal provisions as well as exemplary practices of EU Member States and the most recent international jurisprudence. The project’s main expected outcome is the better knowledge and application of human rights obligations in return-related judicial and police practices. In addition, the HHC aims to promote the integration of this issue into mainstream training schemes of judges and police personnel.
