#Ukraine Destitution and homelessness: the situation of vulnerable Ukrainian beneficiaries of temporary protection

Statements & Written Submissions at the 2024 OSCE Warsaw Human Dimension Conference

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee participated at the 2024 OSCE Human Dimension Conference and took the floor and provided written submissions on the situation of human rights defenders and civic space, on the rights of asylum-seekers and refugees, on criminal justice, on the independence of the judiciary, and on elections.

We also organised a side event on the situation of Ukrainians fleeing Russia’s agression and participated at another one on using foreign agent laws to stifle legitimate civil society actors, at the invitation of the US State Department.

This 10-day conference was dedicated to discussions on the condition of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the OSCE area. The conference provided a platform to evaluate the implementation of the OSCE Human Dimension commitments, and offered a forum for participants to present their current work and raise issues that they believe merit the urgent attention of the international community.
