Hungary: Latest amendments “legalise” extrajudicial push-back of asylum-seekers, in violation of EU and international law

The latest amendments to the Asylum Act and the Act on State Border entered into force today, 5 July 2016. The Hungarian Helsinki Committee’s brief information update analyses the potential dangers and the immediate consequences of the “legalisation” of the extrajudicial push-back of asylum-seekers to the external side of the border fence.
