Váltás magyarraThe Sozialmarie is awarded yearly by the Austrian Unruhe Private Foundation. The aim of the award is to make public the results of the winning projects. According to the jury’s evaluation, the Helsinki Committee’s project is an excellent method to give an alternative to deal with questions of public safety instead of the tools used by far-right organizations.
The jury stated that the project is a brave and necessary step towards the cohabitation of different social groups or nationalities. The journalist, Nora Winkler will follow and support the project for a year. The award was received 1 May 2011 in Vienna.
